About The Role The Fashion Director works closely with the Head of Lifestyle, the Head of Fashion and the Head of Features to plan and coordinate fashion and beauty content across all Telegraph platforms. They head up a team which brings in compelling interviews and feature ideas which uphold The Telegraph’s leading reputation for fashion coverage in the UK. The Fashion Director ensures that existing digital subscribers remain engaged while also bringing in new subscribers with original and high-quality daily features which are perfect for our audience, keeping a close eye on digital metrics and always seeking to reach and engage more readers. Key Responsibilities Coming up with brilliant story ideas that Telegraph readers relate to and ensuring these are executed to a high standard as a visual package, whether digitally or in print. Reacting quickly to news stories with a fashion angle Planning ahead for key fashion events such as royal occasions, awards ceremonies etc Liaising with a network of freelancers, commissioning their ideas for all platforms. Working closely with The Telegraph’s publishing, design, social media,newsletter and SEO teams, as well as senior editors, ensuring all content is optimised and promoted as effectively as possible. Managing the the fashion and beauty team, knowing who is doing what at all times, covering any gaps for holiday/ sickness and implementing rotas for any out of hours coverage required.
