About the Academy
Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is a unique centre that caters to students from Outwood Academies in the Northern Region who require additional support due to behavioural, social, emotional, or mental health challenges.
Our commitment to inclusion drives us to provide a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable students who exhibit challenging behaviours and are at risk of exclusion. With smaller class sizes, we prioritise personal development and student well-being without compromising academic excellence.
Our goal is to ensure that all students can succeed and transition to their next stage with confidence, whether it's further education, employment, or training.
About the Role
The role of an Advanced Teaching Assistant is to promote the learning and welfare of children by providing practical and learning support to children, including those with Education Health Care Plans, under the direction of the class teacher SENDCo or the extended inclusion team.
In this role you will be expected to assess, monitor and record student development, progress and attainment through our school systems. Using this data you will help to support and implement individual development plans, termly reviews and healthcare plans. Other duties will include establishing and maintaining relationships with families, arranging or providing resources for lessons and providing short term cover within our behaviours units.
As this is an advanced role, it is essential that applicants have experience of working in a school environment with young people, as well as holding a level 3 qualification that relates to working with children and young people.
