QUANTITY SURVEYOR REQUIRED: Brentwood, Essex

Rate for the Quantity Surveyor: £50,000 - £70,000 (Depending on experience) per annum
Role: Quantity Surveyor required for a luxury house building contractor
Main Duties of the Quantity Surveyor:
Cost Estimation & Budgeting
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for house building projects, including materials, labor, and other construction costs.
* Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring the project stays within financial constraints.
* Prepare and analyse detailed cost reports and forecasts.
Tendering & Procurement
* Assist in the preparation of tender documents for contractors, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
* Evaluate bids and tenders, recommending the most suitable contractors or suppliers.
* Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
Contract Management
* Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
* Oversee the measurement and valuation of work in progress, including changes or variations to the contract.
Cost Control & Financial Reporting
* Monitor the financial progress of construction projects, tracking costs and identifying areas for cost reduction.
* Report on cost performance and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.
* Provide detailed cost analysis and reports to support project decision-making.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
* Help with the preparation of documents for regulatory inspections and audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in quantity surveying, particularly within residential construction projects.
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
