Technip Energies UK Operating Centre (T.EN UKOC) is a unique engineering contractor, combining the global strength of Technip Energies with strong local presence in the UK market. Job Purpose
We are seeking a CapEx Estimating Group Leader to oversee estimation activities for various jobs and tenders, producing accurate estimates for specific proposals and projects. The ideal candidate will provide leadership for UKOC capex estimates and tendering, effectively managing multiple tasks. They will be responsible for preparing estimates and commercial input for proposals, coordinating activities for small and medium-sized service jobs, and developing EPC CapEx cost estimates for all project phases (Study, FEED, EPC). Additionally, the CapEx Estimating Group Leader will ensure timely reporting to the Estimating Department Manager and be capable of presenting to senior management during estimate review meetings (SUBMIT).
Main Duties
1. Understand the scope of work, contract, schedule, project execution, local conditions, construction execution, and fiscal scheme of specific proposals.
2. Plan and prepare project estimate methodologies that meet client expectations, align with Project Management Team agreements, and adhere to company guidelines.
3. Coordinate with other departments, primarily technical teams, Project/Proposal teams, and support functions.
4. Conduct cost review meetings with estimators, other departments, and project/proposal teams, preparing reviews with the Head of Estimating and UKOC management.
5. Prepare and present SUBMIT management reviews at all hierarchical levels, including cost estimate presentations, overall cost summaries, cash flow, exposure, and price breakdowns for submission.
6. Ensure compliance with QHSES and company standards, interfacing with TEN global estimating when necessary.
7. Collect and update accurate market information, reporting it to the organization.
Departmental Duties
1. Provide leadership and expertise in the domain, updating the Estimating group with the latest standards, tools, and norms.
2. Coordinate and train estimators on utilizing Aspentech Capital Cost Estimator for modeling modularized plants, calibrating the software with detailed estimates or project returns.
3. Review estimate methodologies and new tools for approval by the Head of Estimating.
4. Supervise and review the estimating data bank.
Requirements
1. Engineering degree
2. 8 to 15 years of experience
3. Experience in process design and construction management
4. Good understanding of services and EPC contracts and different pricing typologies
5. Ability to simplify cost structures and optimize cost elements
6. Good attitude and positive interface with other entities and operating centers
7. Knowledge of cost control, management, and project reporting principles
Technical Skills
1. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel spreadsheets and data management
2. Knowledge of Visual Basic for macros (preferred)
3. Experience with Aspentech Capital Cost Estimator
Personal Skills
1. Ability to analyze and summarize costs quickly
2. Strong communication and presentation skills
