We have a number of Family Worker posts available across the County in both Family Assessment & Support Teams and Early Help EAST : Bodmin Family Assessment & Support Team- full time MID : Restormel Early Help team – full time St Austell Family Assessment & Support team- 2 full time posts Newquay Family Assessment & Support team – 4 day post WEST : Penzance Family Assessment & Support team – full time About the role of Family Worker Family Workers work as part of multi-disciplinary teams where children, young people and their families need co-ordinated support at times of increased need and difficulty. Family Workers carry out assessments with children and families (-9months to 18 years ) devise plans of intervention and undertake direct work. To do this you will be trained to utilise a range of evidence-based approaches including Signs of Safety & Motivational Interviewing and accredited Parenting Programmes. We have a good training programme and excellent career progression. Ofsted, July 2024 have said “…. Support provided by local authority staff is well co-ordinated, with the services available from a broad range of partner agencies to meet the needs of children through a whole-family approach. The interface between early help and statutory work is managed well and children and families’ lives improve tangibly as a result of early help intervention. Working Pattern: Primarily Mon-Friday 8.45am-5.15 pm ( full -time) with some flexibility to meet the needs of children & families outside of these times What you’ll need to succeed: You must hold as a minimum a relevant level three professional qualification related to supporting children and families e.g. Education, Health and Social Care and have experience of delivering services for children and their families.
