Special Projects are based within the Business Support and Management function of the Environment and Transport Department. The team delivers a wide range of projects that support the management team and wider department. This post will support the members and communities part of the team in delivering projects related to the members and communities engagement strategy. The postholder will have a diverse and varied range of member and communities related projects to deliver that often require careful stakeholder management and partnership working. About the Role You will already be an experienced members and communities specialist with a proven track record of delivering successful and varied projects that are relevant to this role. Applicants will need to demonstrate proven capability of delivery in a large organisation and be able to work across teams and departments as part of the Special Projects team with minimum supervision and support. About You To apply for this post, you must: To develop positive and productive relationships with members and communities. To provide LCC members with the support on Highways and Environment issues. To assist and ensure that LCC members are provided with the knowledge and advice that they need to enable them to undertake their role in regarding to Environment and Transport issues. To deliver and coordinate responses to complex and potentially sensitive matters on behalf of management and members. To assist the Members and Communities Liaison Manager to deliver solutions for locality issues on behalf of LCC members. To assist the development of positive member relationships, creating open and transparent relationships based on trust. To assist the Members and Communities Liaison Manager to deliver cross department and partnership projects, with a focus on developing positive and productive relationships with members and communities. To provide advice and assistance to departmental managers in the efficient and effective delivery of their role by leading, co-ordinating and delivering specific cross branch, departmental and partnership projects to drive service delivery, efficiencies and improve customer outcomes. To produce all project management documents and deliver effective projects, including producing project plan, risk register, stakeholder communication and engagement and financial reporting. To assist the production of responses (and solutions) to external enquiries which affect a number of service areas, are complex and sensitive in nature and require an accelerated resolution. To assist the response to sensitive enquiries on behalf of senior managers, liaising with customers and members to ensure clarity, accuracy and consistency of response.
