About the Role
We are seeking a creative and proactive Social Media Executive to manage and grow our digital presence across multiple platforms. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for sport and a strong understanding of social media trends, engagement strategies, and digital marketing techniques. You will play a key role in building our fanbase, increasing engagement, and ensuring real-time coverage of matches and events.
This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance at matches and events. A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Social Media Strategy & Execution:
o Develop and execute a social media content plan aligned with marketing objectives.
o Manage and grow the club’s presence across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, and YouTube.
o Monitor trends and implement best practices to increase reach and engagement.
2. Content Creation & Engagement:
o Create high-quality, engaging content, including short-form videos, match highlights, and behind-the-scenes footage.
o Live-post and provide real-time updates from matches and club events.
o Engage with fans through comments, messages, and interactive content.
o Work closely with players, coaches, and staff to develop insider content.
o Capture behind the scenes content when working with press and other media suppliers.
3. Performance Tracking & Reporting:
o Track and analyse key social media metrics (engagement, follower growth, video views, etc.).
o Provide monthly performance reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.
4. Advertising & Audience Growth:
o Assist in paid social media campaigns to drive audience growth and ticket sales.
o Identify and engage with influencers, local media, and community groups to expand reach.
Requirements
* Proven experience managing social media accounts, ideally in sport, entertainment, or a similar industry.
* Strong skills in content creation, including TikTok/reels editing, and copywriting.
* Experience using Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, or similar tools.
* Knowledge of social media analytics and how to interpret data to optimise performance.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for match coverage.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car (travel to matches required).
* Based in the West Midlands (Birmingham/Walsall/Wolverhampton areas preferred).
Desirable Skills
* Experience in sports marketing or working within a club environment.
* Understanding of social media advertising (Meta Ads, Twitter Ads, TikTok promotions).
* Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision.
