Procurement Manager
Location: Walsall, West Midlands

The Role
The Procurement Manager will provide vital support across all departments, overseeing the procurement function to ensure best value, service, and performance from suppliers. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, ensuring process compliance, and driving cost efficiencies across the business. The Procurement Manager will lead the procurement team and collaborate with other departments to support innovation and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Source, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships and contracts.
* Lead negotiations to secure best pricing, terms, and services.
* Forecast demand and align stock levels with customer requirements.
* Implement cost-saving strategies and drive supplier performance improvements.
* Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies and procedures.
* Lead, develop, and support the procurement team.
* Work with sustainability teams to align the supply chain with environmental objectives.
* Deliver measurable cost savings through strategic procurement.
* Monitor and challenge supplier price increases and carriage charges.
* Support the sales team with tenders and bespoke customer pricing.
* Reduce non-essential credit card expenditure through planned purchasing.
* Ensure commercial and contractual compliance in line with corporate governance.
Key Measures & Targets
* Timely resolution of overdue purchase orders and direct-to-customer sales.
* Monthly stock level and reorder reporting.
* Margin growth across all business streams.

Person Specification
Essential
* Strong data analysis skills with the ability to report on spending and savings.
* Experienced in contract negotiation and supplier agreements.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Proven track record in procurement process and project management.
* Familiar with procurement and supply chain software systems.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
* Product knowledge or background in the hire or fabrication industries.
