The Cost Intelligence Team provide cost and carbon insights upon which the wider business can confidently act to achieve our strategic ambitions and deliver value to our customers. The dedicated estimating teams price and assure projects throughout the investment lifecycle to support a value for money programme with data being at the heart of what we do. The location will be flexible and includes hybrid working but will be based in one of our 4 Regional Hub locations at FMH (Edinburgh), The Bridge (Glasgow), Bullion House (Dundee) or Henderson Drive (Inverness). What youâll do Youâll be responsible for estimating and validating project costs for the programme and delivery teams, ensuring Capital Programme consistently demonstrates value for money. Youâll support and mentor a small team of estimators, planning and allocating work effectively to assist the Estimating Team manager. Youâll build strong relationships and work collaboratively with our internal and external customers to agree estimates required for projects throughout the project lifecycle using our corporate estimating system. Youâll play a role in driving continuous improvement by developing and refining processes, ensuring your team follows them and applies appropriate pricing methodologies. Youâll also ensure projects comply with all data and cost capture rules, as well as the requirements of the delivery vehicle contracts. What youâll need Youâll bring proven experience in project and programme estimating, coupled with strong negotiating skills and solid commercial acumen. You should have a good understanding of the NEC suite of contracts and its principles, along with construction experience to help you tackle issues with confidence. While a good knowledge of Water & Wastewater processes and their asset hierarchies would be beneficial, a solid grasp of construction Methods of Measurement is essential. Youâll need to demonstrate youâve built sustainable relationships and collaborated effectively with a variety of stakeholders in the past. You will have the confidence and ability to influence conversations with technical and complex content to reach mutually beneficial outcomes. Your knowledge and experience will be anchored by excellent communication and reporting skills. Youâll thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to challenges. Experience in eithermentoring or leadership and team management is required as it would be helpful for you to excel this role. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, are essential, as is your ability to quickly adapt to new systems. If youâre new to Scottish Water, youâll join us on a starting salary of £41,000. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £51,970.
