Export Operations Administrator - Permanent - Maldon
Hours: 8:30 am - 5 pm - Monday to Friday
Holiday Entitlement: 20 days + UK Bank Holidays
Starting salary: £26,000 per annum
Experience Required: Previous experience of sea freight desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
As an Export Operator, you will be tasked with handling the container loadings of weekly sailings regarding your assigned destinations. You will work as part of an LCL operations team, often liaising with the bookings, sales, and warehouse teams.
In this role, you will also assist customers regarding any queries or updates they may require help with. Your daily tasks will include but are not limited to:
1. Vessel bookings - ensuring you have container bookings with the shipping line(s) for your assigned destinations in line with our system schedule, at least 3 weeks in advance.
2. Submitting hazardous materials to carriers, answering any queries present, and ensuring acceptance before assigning to a load plan.
3. Creating load lists and sending them over to the correct load depot, enabling them to load the planned jobs - this will include ensuring hazardous freight is not at risk of clashing with others.
4. Assisting with cargo queries from our CFS/customers regarding piece count discrepancies, marks, damage, etc.
5. Invoice queries - keeping track of and solving invoice queries from the carriers within our system allowing accounts to pass the payment in good time.
6. Providing customers with updates when requested.
7. Building vessel schedules within the system, listing correct depot load cut-off dates.
8. Learning and adhering to the specific rules of cargo destined for your assigned destination.
9. Reviewing final load lists once the CFS confirm loading and sending them over to our documentation team ensuring the pre-alert can be sent to destination.
10. Completing customs entries in CDS.
11. Associating UCRs to MUCRs in CDS and submitting to carrier - allowing our containers to be granted permission to progress upon arrival on quay.
12. Dealing with customs queries, e.g., route 1 document holds in good time to allow containers to be granted permission to progress in time for sailing R45.
