Junior Technical Manager
We are working with a leader in the fresh produce industry, committed to delivering high-quality products while ensuring food safety, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. We are looking for a Junior Technical Manager to join our team and support technical compliance, supplier management, and product quality assurance.
The Role
As a Junior Technical Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining technical compliance, ensuring product quality, and managing relationships with key stakeholders. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow in the fresh produce industry and gain valuable experience in food safety, sustainability, and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with customer technical teams and category suppliers,
Manage and maintain customer product specifications and quality attribute sheets.
Investigate and resolve customer complaints, product withdrawals, and recalls, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
Ensure all food safety and quality standards are met consistently.
Maintain and report customer and technical KPIs.
Verify product artwork and packaging according to company procedures.
Conduct supplier visits, quality checks, and crop walks where possible.
Ensure compliance with customer policies, codes of practice, and supplier approval procedures.
Monitor pesticide and microbiological risk, ensuring testing is carried out per regulations.
Support sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives, working closely with suppliers and internal teams.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Commercial & Procurement teams to enhance service delivery and business growth.
Assist in innovation projects and benchmarking assessments.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Knowledge
Ideally some experience in fresh produce, this could be from QC, product manager, technologist position.
Qualifications
Minimum Level 2 HACCP & Food Hygiene certification.
Degree or HND/HNC in food science or a related subject (preferred).
Auditor qualification (desirable).
