Let us introduce the role Take a lead role in assessing and constructing a substantiation case for some of the assurances provided by AWE to the MOD and UK government. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Act as an auditor when evaluating production proposals, ensuring the element of the UK Nuclear Deterrent you are responsible for will fulfil its role. Evaluate the findings of surveillance activities and provide insight into their implications. Contribute to the inter-organisation and international relationships that underpin the management and sustainment of an element of the UK Nuclear Deterrent. Initially this will be a desk-based role. Longer-term, as the team continues to develop, there will be opportunities to participate in exploratory activities, in both technical theory and hands-on. As your aptitude is demonstrated over time, expect to take a place in the succession plan of this team, with recognised steps in accountability and decision-making authority, and progression into a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) position.
