Description Wood is looking for an Intermediate Piping Designer to Join our growing design team to help deliver projects in Hull and the surrounding area. This position will be based in Hull working on a Hybrid basis with the expectation to visit the Hull office on an agreed schedule. Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. The Role Wood is looking for a 3D Piping Designer to join our Hull based Digital Operations Team. The candidate will show initiative to learn new programs and use problem solving skills to overcome challenges with unfamiliar software. The suitable candidate will bring ideas and a positive attitude to an already competent multi-disciplinary team. As a 3D Piping Designer you will support the design team with basic tasks on 3D models to a high standard that can be presented in Model Reviews and used for estimating, detail design, fabrication, and installation. Responsibilities Typical responsibilities 3D Plant Layout drawings & Piping GA's to a level of detail that meets a specific projects requirement. 3D Piping Isometrics for Construct & Destruct works. 3D Pipe Support Detail Drawings. Modelling of equipment pipework with inline items and concept Civil & Structural works using AutoCAD Plant 3D, Aveva E3D & Hexagon S3D. Liaise with other engineering disciplines namely, Process, Civil & Structural, EC&I and have a good understanding of the documentation that they produce. Prepared to travel within UK for client visits and site surveys. (The role does not require extended visits away from home). Comfortable working on several projects simultaneously which may vary from large green/brown field projects to smaller projects. Candidates who can work with minimal supervision will be preferred however, guidance, checking and approval will be provided by the Principal Piping Engineer assigned to the project. Expected: HNC Mechanical Engineering Knowledge of EU Piping standards (EN) Excellent communication skills Competent using Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) Able to extract information from Point Cloud Surveys & Scan Data. Proficient in the use of as many of the following software packages: Aveva E3D, Hexagon S3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, ReCap & Navisworks
