Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Project Planner with a range of skills to join a growing team delivering OEM, motorsport, and niche vehicle projects.
Prior experience of project planning in an automotive manufacturing environment is essential.
Role Summary:
Working as a key member of the Program Management team to enable successful quoting of potential future projects and successful delivery of current projects. Undertaking project planning of stand-alone small to mid-sized projects and aiding planning on mid to large-size projects, for both current and future work. Manage multiple projects and programs, maintaining plans and forecasts. Responsible for creating, maintaining, reviewing, and administering project planning activities, resource utilization reporting, and planning.
Responsibilities include:
1. Create and maintain tools to aid planning of current and future projects, ensuring consistency of approach.
2. Assist in creating project plans for new proposals and existing projects through liaison with functional department leaders and program managers.
3. Keep the project team updated on progress for presentation to key stakeholders.
4. Manage multiple projects and programs, maintaining strategic plans and forecasts.
5. Work closely with engineering supply chain to create schedules and help manage deliveries.
6. Identify risks and opportunities within plans.
7. Conduct resource planning and update resource utilization forecasts to support current and future project activities, liaising with functional areas.
8. Maintain project file directory database, ensuring configuration control for project documents and reports.
9. Support and adhere to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to quality management systems (e.g., TS 16949, ISO 9001/2014).
10. Maintain knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure safe work practices.
11. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Minimum HNCHND third-level qualifications.
2. Experience of project planning in an automotive manufacturing environment is essential.
3. Good communication and professional presentation skills.
4. Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
5. Proficient in MS Office and/or Google Suite.
6. Experienced user of planning software (MS Project or other).
7. A degree in Engineering or Project Management is advantageous.
8. Knowledge and experience of automotive product development processes are beneficial.
9. Knowledge of VBA.
10. Awareness of budget and financial management.
