Purpose of the Role:
The Stores-person with Life Raft Installation and Safety System Service Responsibilities is a multifaceted role that combines traditional store management duties with specialised technical responsibilities. The successful candidate will manage inventory, receive and dispatch goods, and perform installation and maintenance services for life rafts and safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of stock levels and locations.
Monitor stock levels, order new stock, and organise existing stock to ensure adequate supplies.
Ensure all goods are stored in designated areas, adhering to safety and storage conditions.
Goods Movement:
Receive and unpack incoming goods, checking for quality and quantity.
Prepare and dispatch outgoing goods, ensuring accurate packaging and labelling.
Manage stock reconciliation and resolve any discrepancies.
Life Raft Installation and Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of life rafts according to manufacturer guidelines.
Perform pressure tests on buoyancy chambers and inspect all fittings and equipment.
Overhaul life rafts as needed, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Safety System Service:
Install and service safety systems, including rescue boats and associated equipment.
Conduct routine checks on safety equipment to ensure operational readiness.
