Securitas is looking for a dedicated Area Relief Security Officer to protect people and property in Swanley As a Area Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing security services across various client sites, ensuring the protection of property, staff, and visitors. Your role will involve working both independently and as part of a team, depending on the site and the specific requirements of each client. You will be expected to cover for staff absences, such as sickness or holiday, as well as meet additional client needs as they arise. Hours: 36 hours a week.- Days, Nights, Weekends and Bank Holidays. Pay rate: £12ph - £17ph site depending As a vital member of our security team, you'll be on the frontline, closely monitoring activities and reporting any incidents. With a strong focus on continuous training and service improvement, you'll play an essential role in maintaining a secure and safe environment. Protection of Property and Premises Prevent unauthorised access. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV. Conduct internal and external patrols as per Assignment Instructions. Manage traffic and enforce parking restrictions as needed. Perform routine security equipment checks. Manage keys and locking/unlocking duties. Ensure proper use of customer and Securitas equipment. Maintain logbooks and records. Issue visitor/contractor passes as required. Handle lost property according to procedures. Health and Safety Provide guidance to staff, visitors, and contractors to ensure safety. Adhere to health and safety procedures, reporting hazards, faults, and accidents. Keep walkways and emergency routes clear. Report First Aid usage and deficiencies. Notify the Operations Centre of emergencies and follow instructions. Investigate fire alarm activations. Prevent Loss and Waste Report risks of property loss, theft, damage, or vandalism. Turn off unnecessary lights and close windows during patrols. Prevent and Deter Crime Operate radios, pagers, and other security equipment. Enforce 'stop and search' policies as needed. Investigate and report incidents, suspicious activities, or vehicles. Customer Service Provide excellent customer service. Address issues raised by staff and visitors. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and uniform. Answer phone calls professionally as per Assignment Instructions. Other Responsibilities Clock in at the start of shifts and make check calls. Complete paperwork and conduct handovers. Perform additional duties as requested by management. Skills and Qualifications: Reporting Skills: Ability to accurately document incidents, patrol logs, and site activities in clear, concise reports. Access Control Systems: Experience with or the ability to quickly learn how to use access control systems to manage site entry/exit points. Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally and courteously with staff, visitors, and contractors. Patrolling: Proven experience or ability to conduct effective site patrols, identifying security risks, and responding to incidents. Work Well Under Pressure: Able to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure situations, making quick decisions when necessary. IT Skills: Basic IT proficiency for reporting, using security software, and operating communication tools. Manual Driving Licence: A full, clean manual driving licence is required to travel between sites as needed. Well Presented: Maintain a professional appearance with a neat and tidy uniform to represent both the company and the client. Reliable & Punctual: Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and excellent timekeeping, ensuring shifts are covered as required. Must have a valid SIA Licence. Must have the right to work in the UK. Have a five-year check able employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or full and part-time education during that period. Must have driving licence/ access to own vehicle Computer Skills Flexible and able to travel with working a mix of days and nights Well presented Customer Service Skills
