Are you an accredited or nearly accredited Clinical Vascular Scientist/STP/Vascular Sonographer looking for an exciting opportunity? We are seeking passionate professionals to join our friendly and dedicated Vascular Investigations Unit.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and dedicated professional to contribute to, and improve our patient centred service. The post is full time, 37.5 hours per week, but a part-time appointment would be considered.
We are looking to appoint a Clinical Vascular Scientist with full CSVS accreditation. Ideally the candidate would have full AVS accreditation via the Collage and Society for Clinical Vascular Science (CSVS). We would also welcome candidates with experience working towards AVS as well as those who have completed or are due to complete the Scientific Training Programme (STP) Vascular course. Other CSVS recognised qualifications will also be accepted.
Our department is in purpose-built accommodation, consisting of four spacious air-conditioned scanning rooms and office space. We have four ultrasound scanners, Philips Epiq, GE Logic 9, a Samsung RS80A and a Siemens Juniper. We are connected to PACS and use an electronic reporting package.
• Independently perform vascular ultrasound and vascular physiology assessments on patients.
• Modify examinations based on findings, including performing additional tests as necessary.
• Provide highly specialized clinical technical services by interpreting and reporting on diagnostic test results.
• Communicate findings to patients, discussing the clinical significance and outlining possible treatment plans.
• Write clear and concise reports and communicate findings to colleagues to ensure appropriate patient treatment.
The department currently has three full-time accredited Clinical Vascular Scientists, a part time Vascular Scientist, an Associate Vascular Technician, and trainee Clinical Vascular Scientist. We work closely with six Vascular Surgeons, three Interventional Radiologists, and two Specialist Vascular Nurses.
The department covers a full range of investigations including carotid artery Duplex, upper and lower limb venous and arterial Duplex, graft surveillance, EVAR and AAA follow-up, pre-op fistula assessment and AVF follow-up and renal artery Duplex. There will be opportunities to participate in audit activities, training and service improvement. Non-clinical time is also allocated for CPD and unit responsibilities. There are regular opportunities to attend conferences and study days, including the annual Vascular Societies conference and regional symposiums.
