Your new role
Our public sector client who is focused on enabling positive change in social work is recruiting a Junior Developer to join their IT team. The IT department is a small but highly efficient team that works together, and where necessary, identifies and fills skills/resources gaps to achieve results. You will be critical to the successful delivery of digital projects, assisting with all aspects to drive a project from inception to the point it goes live.
What you will do
1. Develop custom solutions using C#, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
2. Write, maintain, and test code for applications and platforms adhering to our coding standards.
3. Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software bugs and errors and support the creation of digital solutions including forms, scripting, and workflow design.
4. Configure, debug, test, and document new applications and enhancements including forms, reports, underlying logic, and interface components.
5. Work with our CI/CD processes which use Jenkins, Octopus, Sonar.
6. Work closely with the Senior Developer in the delivery of change and improvement.
7. Use your initiative to find creative solutions for our organisation.
8. Have a keen eye for detail, making sure output is always of the highest quality and follows coding standards.
What you will need
1. Knowledge of C# (.NET and .NET core).
2. Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
3. A desire to learn new technologies, in particular Appian.
4. Basic knowledge of RDBMS platforms (such as Microsoft SQL Server, MariaDB, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
5. Knowledge of content management systems such as Umbraco, Drupal, or Ghost.
6. Exposure to developing and debugging web applications and associated CSS.
7. Understanding of Web infrastructures such as AWS or Azure.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
9. A demonstrable commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Details
Job type: Permanent.
Working pattern: Full-time. We offer flexible working subject to business need.
Salary: £29,063 per year, rising to £30,205 per year after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.
Location: Sheffield/hybrid.
