Full-Time PE and Dance Teacher – Secondary School (Fareham)
Start Date: ASAP – Contract Until April 2025
Pay: £150 - £230 per day
Location: Fareham (Near Southampton)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Full-Time
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate PE and Dance Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school near Fareham, starting immediately on a long-term contract. This exciting role will run at least until April 2025, with the potential for further extension.
About the School:
Our school is based between Fareham and Southampton and is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years. With excellent sports and dance facilities, the school supports staff development and values a collaborative teaching approach. Recently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the school continues to provide an outstanding education to all its students.
Job Description:
As a PE and Dance Teacher, you will teach a dynamic range of lessons that engage students in both physical education and dance. The ideal candidate will inspire students to embrace physical activity, build their confidence in sports and performance, and promote healthy, active lifestyles. Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess PE and Dance lessons that align with the national curriculum.
Create a motivating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation from all students.
Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support to ensure development.
Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their growth in both physical education and dance.
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students during lessons.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, while contributing to the development of the department.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Physical Education, Dance, or a related subject.
Experience teaching PE and/or Dance in a secondary school setting.
Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for PE and Dance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate students.
Passionate about inspiring students in both physical education and dance.
