An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Maternity Departments to join the education team as a Band 6 Clinical Skills Educator.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible individual, with a strong focus on training and education to support the Band 7 Practice Development Midwives to develop and drive forward a robust education programme for the midwifery workforce.
The post holder will be an experienced midwife and will work closely with the senior midwifery team and MTD to deliver high quality education and training, helping staff to realise their potential and to identify and develop their midwifery skills.
This is an exciting time for our maternity teams, as we have been provided with funding to create a range of new roles. This role will support the growing midwifery establishment, ensuring training, progression, and high standards of patient care.

The Clinical Skills Midwife works as a member of the maternity team, supporting activity to ensure the maternity unit meets its educational and professional development responsibilities.
The post holder will be a professional role model and autonomous practitioner, supporting the Practice Development Midwives to manage educational and/or practice development activities for staff within the maternity unit; acting as a clinical expert within the Trust, disseminating specialist skills and knowledge to others.
The successful candidate will be part of the wider midwifery team and participate in clinical activity as required.
The postholder will ensure that continuing personal, professional and practice development is an active process, and that high quality midwifery care is delivered in line with current evidence-based practice.
This role may require active involvement with audit, governance and quality or service improvement; ensuring learning from incidents and complaints are embedded into education. You will be highly visible, accessible within clinical practice, demonstrating the trust vision and values in all behaviors.
