Divisional Technical Director - Data Centres - EMEA
Location: Hybrid (Commutable to London)
We are seeking an experienced Technical Director to join a global data centre solutions provider, leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of technical standards, system updates, and service solutions across the EMEA portfolio. This role is integral to ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency, and best practices in mission-critical environments, while driving future engineering strategy and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and maintain technical standards, ensuring risk management practices (CERM™) are embedded in operations.
* Support the performance, profitability, and growth of the data centre solutions business.
* Act as a technical authority, providing guidance to maintenance teams and serving as the primary technical interface for clients.
* Oversee essential maintenance periods, root cause analysis investigations, and emergency response planning to ensure 100% plant availability.
* Manage the development and implementation of SOPs/EOPs and ensure effective change control processes across the portfolio.
* Lead business-critical asset management, including CMMS implementation, capacity reporting, and critical spares management.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive consistency, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience:
* 10+ years of experience in data centres or critical environments, with expertise in HV/LV systems, HVAC, and hard services infrastructure.
* Deep technical knowledge of electrical infrastructures, fire safety, ACOPs, and building control requirements.
* HNC qualification in an engineering discipline (minimum); a degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.
* Proven ability to lead change programs and implement technical best practices at scale.
* Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and client interfaces.
* Contractually astute and experienced in working within contractual frameworks.
