This exciting new role is to be a lived experience representative working on the trauma-informed workstream of the clinical and social care strategy. The Clinical and Social Care Strategy aims to improve the quality of care that our service users receive, at the same time as reducing health inequalities that adversely impact on many.
The Key Priorities Within The Strategy Are:
1. Understanding what matters to people: Improving the experience, safety, and quality of care for service users, carers, and families through understanding what matters to people and coproducing systems and models of care.
2. Knowing we make a difference: Seeking to help people to live well and reducing the inequalities associated with mental health problems and learning disability through early intervention, prevention, and transformation of mental health care to be closer to communities and capturing impact and outcomes.
3. Creating environments for excellence: Promoting the development of therapeutic teams through a well-trained workforce, working within healing-built environments.
4. Transforming care in Sheffield: Building further and faster the partnerships and transformation with other organisations to become a more integrated health and social care system with improved outcomes, including a zero suicide ambition.
5. Leading the system for outstanding care: Developing system quality networks for MHLDA and building an equitable system in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw.
Using the ROOTs method to measure trauma-informed practice and deliver quality improvements. The ROOTS framework is designed to encourage thinking and reflection around trauma-informed working in a culture of cooperation and safety.
The Main Steps Include:
1. Staff training
2. A staff evaluation
3. A service user evaluation
4. The development of a coproduced action plan for the service
One of the aims of the trauma-informed workstream is to support all SHSC teams through the ROOTS process.
At SHSC, we prioritise the well-being and safety of both our service users and employees. It is our policy and a condition of employment that all employees must join the DBS Update Service. This service carries an annual fee, which employees are responsible for paying up front. However, employees may claim this cost back through the Trust's Employee Expenses Reimbursement Policy. For those requiring a Basic DBS check, it is necessary to register for a DBS Online Account.
The postholder will co-facilitate, co-lead, and support the development and training of ROOTS. The postholder will be a key part of the clinical and social care strategy team.
