The Orchard School is seeking a visionary Pupil Support Lead with a passion for Relational Therapeutic Behaviour, Therapeutic Thinking, and functional analysis of behaviour. In this pivotal leadership role, you will drive strategic improvements, empower staff through training and coaching, and ensure that all interventions align with our inclusive, restorative ethos. By championing non-punitive, empathy-led approaches, you will help us remove barriers to learning and foster long-term positive change in pupils’ lives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic leadership in embedding relational and therapeutic principles across the school, using functional analysis of behaviour to inform policy, practice, and individual interventions.
2. Coach and mentor staff, including the Deputy Pupil Support Lead, enabling them to deliver effective, data-informed therapeutic strategies.
3. Engage pupils, parents/carers, and external agencies to build strong networks of support, improving resilience, wellbeing, and learner outcomes.
4. Analyse and report on interventions and outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with the school’s development plan.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Demonstrable experience in leading on behaviour, wellbeing, or inclusion initiatives within an educational setting.
2. Expertise in Relational Therapeutic Behaviour, Therapeutic Thinking, and functional analysis of behaviour, with a track record of improving pupil outcomes.
3. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire colleagues, build trust, and model exemplary practice.
4. Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion, ensuring every pupil is supported to reach their full potential.
What We Offer:
1. A forward-thinking, inclusive environment that values innovation, empathy, and continuous learning.
2. Opportunities for ongoing professional development and the chance to shape whole-school strategies.
3. Collaboration with a supportive leadership team, dedicated colleagues, and involved parents/carers, all working together to create lasting, positive change for our pupils.
If you are ready to lead transformational practice and champion a restorative, relational ethos, we invite you to join The Orchard School.
