Household name Plc seeks to recruit a commercial lawyer to work within a busy legal department. Our client can consider full or part-time working. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days in the office per week.
Responsibilities
Undertaking a broad general commercial position advising the business and drafting/negotiating a range of contracts which can be very complex. However, you could also specialise in on a key area such as project finance, technology or data privacy. Work could involve some of the following:
* Negotiating, drafting and advising on a range of contracts including supply of goods and services, JV, R&D, IT, IP or construction
* Advice on data sharing and processing including GDPR
* Corporate matters arising from assets and statutory functions including project or asset finance
* Overseeing commercial disputes
* Support to cutting edge projects including renewables
* Regulatory oversight including changes in the law
* Supporting colleagues where needed with other commercial matters
* Mentoring more junior staff
* Conducting internal training
We are looking for:
* A UK qualified solicitor or barrister with at least of 2 years PQE*
* Well regarded law firm or inhouse experience, preferably within a similar sector (infrastructure/construction/energy/utilities/engineering)
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills
* Strong interpersonal, commercial and team skills
* Confident and able to work with senior management
