Business Development Manager – Asbestos Location: Office-based in Kettering, with occasional site visits for pricing Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience) Are you an experienced professional in the asbestos industry looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to join our team. This role is based at our office in Kettering, so candidates must be able to commute daily and be comfortable visiting sites as required. The Role We’re looking for someone with experience in asbestos project pricing and delivery, combined with strong customer-facing and commercial skills. Key Responsibilities: Asbestos Industry Expertise: Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the asbestos industry. Strong understanding of asbestos project pricing and delivery. Customer Engagement: Confident in face-to-face interactions with clients at all levels, from site operatives to directors. Committed to delivering a first-class service that sets us apart from the competition. Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in both small and large teams across multiple functions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Sales & Business Development: Understanding of basic sales methodologies, with knowledge of recognised sales approaches (e.g. SPIN Selling or Action Selling) being advantageous. Ability to identify and convert business opportunities. Pricing & Project Support: Ability to price work from site visits or floor plans across all survey types. Strong communication with site teams to ensure smooth project delivery. LinkedIn & Brand Awareness: Understanding of personal and business branding to enhance sales and visibility on LinkedIn. The Ideal Candidate: At least 3 years of experience in the asbestos industry. Knowledge of sales principles and an ability to coach others (desirable but not essential). Naturally inquisitive with a passion for identifying and converting sales opportunities. Excellent listening skills to understand customer challenges and successfully position our brand. Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams and key stakeholders. Demonstrated success in delivering challenging objectives and achieving commercial targets. Highly organised with strong analytical and commercial skills. Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. Self-motivated, results-driven, and proactive in approach.
