We are are seeking dedicated SEND Key Workers to join the team for a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Conduct statutory assessments and develop, review, and maintain Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Manage a caseload of children with EHCPs, attend annual reviews, and make necessary adjustments to plans.
- Liaise with educational providers and vocational settings to identify suitable placements for children and young people with SEND.
- Coordinate a person-centred, multi-agency approach to planning and support, ensuring young people and their families are treated as partners in the EHCP process.
- Act as the primary contact for SEND students attending local schools, colleges, and specialist institutions.
- Attend and occasionally chair multi-agency meetings, analysing and evaluating advice from educational, medical, social care, and psychological professionals.
- Resolve SEND support issues through direct engagement with children, parents, and carers, including participation in mediation and tribunal cases.
- Monitor commissioned services to track outcomes and liaise with non-educational agencies to ensure holistic support.
- Provide guidance to schools on meeting SEND requirements and optimising the use of SEND funding.
- Oversee resources, including personal budgets, to ensure EHCP objectives are met.
- Graduate-level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Social Work, Educational Psychology, or equivalent NVQ Level 4 qualifications).
- Significant experience in early years, schools, colleges, or similar settings, working with SEND children and young people.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with schools, partner agencies, and families.
- Expertise in statutory assessments, multi-agency collaboration, and SEND frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of current SEND theory, legislation, and child-centred practices.
- Experience in delivering advisory or guidance services to families and young people.
