We are excited to be recruiting the very first Tutors for HMP Millsike, a brand-new prison estate near York! This is a unique opportunity to be among the first to step into the classrooms in Spring 2025, shaping and delivering education from day one.
In this role, you’ll deliver impactful Peer Mentoring qualifications to small groups, developing peer mentors who will support fellow prisoners in areas such as literacy, digital skills, and neurodiverse needs. Working closely with key departments, including healthcare, you’ll tailor training to ensure peer advocates are equipped to assist in prisoner induction and support services.
Deliver Gateway Qualifications in Peer Mentoring up to Level 2, supporting neurodiverse learners, low-literacy learners, and promoting digital literacy.
A Level 3 qualification (or above) in Peer Mentoring, Literacy, or a related field.
A recognised teaching qualification such as PTLLS, AET, CET, or equivalent (Level 5 teaching qualification is highly desirable).
