Part of the Finance Team, the role focuses specifically on treasury operations and supporting the Head of Treasury in the management of the Society’s liquidity, interest rate risk and capital.
Responsibilities
1. Manage interest rate risk and liquidity risk of the Society including:
1. Cash flow monitoring and forecasting
2. Conducting treasury transactions including IR swaps to hedge interest rate risk in the Society and the investment of Treasury assets to optimise the liquidity asset portfolio yield and risk profiles
3. Support Risk Appetite assessment & perform related stress testing
4. Production of relevant treasury and financial information (including liquidity and IRRBB management information) for Operational ALCO, ALCO and Board
5. Monitor and report financial and treasury related limits and thresholds set both by the regulatory bodies and internally
6. Maintain treasury management system (TMS) and the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) system (ALMIS) including:
1. Booking and maintenance of treasury related transactions.
2. Ensure data in TMS & ALM systems are complete and accurate.
7. Operate monthly hedge accounting process and maintain Hedge accounting models (ALMIS)
8. Assist with the preparation of the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP) document, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and Recovery Plan for the Society, in collaboration with the Head of Treasury, Head of Finance and the Risk Team
9. Support the maintenance of the Society’s Mortgage Pricing model and the Society’s ability to improve its margin management.
10. Manage the Society’s access to BOE current and future liquidity and funding schemes to ensure that access to funds is timely.

Qualifications, skills and experience
* 1 – 3 years’ experience in treasury (cash, liquidity and interest rate risk management), or financial analysis within a corporate environment
* Strong analytical skills, an ‘eye for detail’ and self-motivation will be key requirements
* Proficient in treasury management systems (TMS) and Excel
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Supports the team to develop and is a self-starter who takes ownership for the successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
* Preferably studying towards AMCT, CFA or ACA/CIMA qualification
* Whilst not essential, experience operating within a Building Society / Retail Bank would be advantageous.
