Here at The Buckinghamshire Leisure Community Trust, our goal is to encourage active, healthy lifestyles in a safe, warm, clean, friendly, and fun environment. We are looking to recruit a Swimming Co-ordinator to join our team.
The successful Swimming Co-ordinator will implement and control on-site administration, contributing to the operation and development of the Swimming Lesson programme and ensuring the safety and skill advancement of the pupils in your care.
Your duties will include:
1. Assisting with objectives to increase the number of participants for the swimming lesson programme.
2. Delivering marketing materials regarding current and forthcoming swimming lesson offers.
3. Inputting/updating the computerised swimming lesson booking system.
4. Assessing Swim teachers to ensure compliance with teaching/administration processes.
5. Instructing individuals/groups in line with the Learn to Swim scheme for swimming or other aquatic activities.
6. Providing schemes of work and lesson plans.
7. Promoting and supporting the swimming lesson scheme.
You will help facilitate a safe, fun, and professional working environment with excellent training and development opportunities, as well as a free membership to our leisure centre.
About you
To be considered for this role, you will need to hold either a STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming or Swim England (Previously ASA) Level 2. It’s desirable, but not essential, to hold a qualification in water safety/lifesaving (NPLQ).
You will have excellent customer service skills as you’ll be interacting heavily with our customers and your team of Swimming Teachers. Whether you’ve earned that experience in leisure or another customer-facing environment, you’ll be a people person who is happy dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Lastly, you will have good basic finance, IT, and clerical/administrative skills, along with extensive and up-to-date knowledge of current swim teaching practices and safety requirements for the management of swimming lessons.
