Does this sound like something you want to be a part of?
We are currently recruiting for a Housing Officer to join the Estates Team.
The Estates team supplies quality housing for our supported accommodation clients, fit for purpose offices for staff, and provides an efficient property management service.
This exciting role will support our new accommodation service in Milton Keynes.
The impact you will have
Working as part of the Estates team, you will contribute to changing the lives of vulnerable and homeless people by supporting them to maintain their accommodation and assisting the team in the delivery of our housing management service.
You will regularly communicate and deal with tenants, manage tenancies and lettings, and address anti-social behaviour. Part of the role will include connecting with external agencies, such as landlords, the police, social services, and working with internal teams including Case Workers and Finance.
This is an exciting, fast-paced role where you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference in people's lives.
The details
Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours, across Monday to Friday.
Location: You will be mainly based at the supported accommodation premises in Milton Keynes; there may be an opportunity to complete admin at home. You will be required to attend team meetings across our offices.
Closing date: Monday 24th February @12.00pm.
Interview date: To be confirmed on application.
Please note, we are looking for someone to start around the middle of March. We will be inviting suitable applicants to a ‘come meet us’ call and offering interviews earlier than the closing date; therefore, this role might close early, so apply early if you’re interested.
About you
Your professional experience should include working within the social/private housing sector and managing tenants and tenancy agreements. It is also important that you have an understanding of dealing with tenants with high needs and from a wide range of backgrounds.
Ideally, we would like you to have an understanding of the housing and benefits systems, with good knowledge around housing best practice and legal requirements. However, as long as you are able to research and update your knowledge, this is not essential.
What’s most important is your genuine passion to help people sustain their accommodation.
No two days are the same, so you will need to be flexible, able to juggle priorities, and thrive on challenges.
You will also be required to attend meetings across our offices, which are located in Bletchley, High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Banbury, and Wolvercote; therefore, you must be happy to use public transport or have your own vehicle.
