Our client is a well backed Engineering Consultancy who focus on Pipelines and Storage facilities in the UK and overseas. They are at the forefront of the hydrocarbon transport and storage industry. They are now hiring a Principal Control and Instrument Engineer
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Annual Bonus: up to 12%

The main purpose of the role is the execution and co-ordination of engineering projects associated with onshore fuel pipelines and associated facilities.
What You'll Be Doing:
Communication
* Maintain direct contact with Clients and key stakeholders regarding project issues
* Co-ordination of discipline engineers, CAD Operators, Field Engineers, Contractors and Suppliers
* Reporting and discussion of project issues with the Project Manager.
Planning and Project Management
* Provide project control from initial approval through to commissioning and handover (typical portfolio size £3mill per annum)
* Ensure agreed man-hour and cost targets are adhered to.
* Prepare project plans and programmes.
* Ensure work is carried out in accordance with BPA procedures to client satisfaction.
* Ensure work is carried out in accordance with National and BPA HSSEQ standards.
Design
* Identify and manage design risks.
* Apply professional engineering discipline, judgement and constructive thinking to the selection of design solutions
* Provide appropriate engineering designs in accordance with relevant company, client, national and international standards
* Develop design and construction drawings.
* Conduct design reviews with project stakeholders.
Procurement
* Prepare contract documentation for procurement of services and materials.
* Evaluate tenders and provide recommendations for contract award.
* Authorise invoices and monitor project spend.
Construction / Commissioning
* Manage on site construction contracts.
* Liaise with onsite staff to ensure health and safety targets are achieved.
* Assist in the preparation of commissioning plans.
General
* Maintain good client relationships.
* Adapt to changing priorities presented by client requirements.
* Ensure good engineering practices are maintained.
* Assist in the development of scopes of work and budgets.
* Operate to expected quality standards.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Member / chartered with a relevant professional institution (IMechE etc)
* Demonstrable knowledge (in specified discipline) of design and project engineering of facilities associated with oil and gas pipelines and terminals.
* Minimum of five years in the oil and gas or associated industries.
* Computer literate in normal office software applications and specialist applications as necessary.
* Valid UK driving licence
