A mainstream junior school in Slough is seeking a proactive, nurturing and adaptable primary SEND teaching assistant to join their SEND provision and support children with complex needs and personal care requirements. This is a full-time position (8:15-3:45, Monday to Friday) and requires someone who is comfortable being on their feet for most of the day and can communicate effectively with a diverse range of children, each with varying needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting children in the classroom, assisting them with both academic and personal care tasks, and helping them engage with their lessons. You will work closely with teachers to ensure that individual education plans are followed, adapting learning materials and activities to meet the specific needs of each child. You will also help with daily routines and ensure that children are comfortable and well-supported throughout the school day.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 months of experience supporting SEND children in a school setting. While relevant qualifications are desirable, they are not essential. The role demands a proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with complex needs and are ready to take on a rewarding and dynamic role, we encourage you to apply.
