This band 7 role will comprise of joint leadership of the orthopaedic Physiotherapy team of fourteen staff, alongside a mixed Orthopaedic trauma and elective caseload with an emphasis on frailty trauma. You will provide evidence-based education and advice to patients and members of the MDT on the Physiotherapy management of frailty trauma both within and outside the Trust. There will be opportunities for innovation and an expectation that you will be involved in quality improvement to develop patient pathways across Somerset NHS foundation Trust by developing links with Yeovil and the community therapy teams to ensure seamless and consistent care for our patients in Somerset. You will provide joint team management support, service evaluation and strategy to drive the Orthopaedic service forward. The team is currently participating in a National research project looking at the rehabilitation of Neck of Femur fractures. Main duties of the job This role will assess and treat a variety of Orthopaedic conditions both traumatic and elective with an emphasis on the elderly trauma patients, supporting more junior staff to develop their skills. To jointly provide the operational management of the Physiotherapy staff within Orthopaedics, providing supervision and appraisal of staff and onward development of the service.
