Family Support Worker:
We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced female Support Workers to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a supportive, close-knit team providing care for two adult sisters in a family home. We are looking for individuals who have experience working with clients who have brain injuries and physical disabilities.
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of these individuals by providing personal care, supporting with daily living activities, and fostering an environment that promotes their safety, well-being, and personal growth. You will work closely with a team of 4 staff members during the day and 2 staff members overnight, providing continuous, high-quality care 7 days a week.
Due to the location of the property, access to your own vehicle and a valid driving license are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, dressing, and mobility support.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals at all times.
* Support and encourage participation in a range of activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
* Follow and implement individualized support plans tailored to each client’s specific needs and goals.
* Collaborate with parents and other Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) involved in the care and support to provide holistic care.
* Monitor progress, document observations, and report any changes in behaviour or concerns to the appropriate parties.
* Attend appointments and support clients during various therapy sessions such as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and SALT meetings.
* Foster a positive, nurturing, and respectful environment to promote social interaction and personal growth.
* Provide both waking and sleeping night shifts as required, with a mix of long days, weekends, and night shifts as part of a rotating schedule.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Previous experience working with clients who have brain injuries and physical disabilities is required.
* A genuine passion for supporting others to reach their full potential.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage clients effectively.
* Patience, empathy, and flexibility are essential.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated team.
* A positive, professional attitude and a commitment to high-quality care.
* Due to the clients’ specific requests, only female applicants will be considered for this role.
* A valid DBS check and relevant safeguarding training are desirable (if not already held, will be required).
