PART TIME FIXED TERM CONTRACT - 22.5hrs
Provide assistance within the finance department in areas of daily financial administration and other clerical duties.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Process new starters as notified by Human Resources into financial software
* Check and record weekly attendance received from services. Ensure any overtime and other exceptional payments are recorded on the monthly payroll working sheets
* Check and process weekly payroll payment, as received from payroll bureau.
* Assist with the preparation of management accounts by:
* Coding and posting the monthly travel and other expenses, using payroll templates, into nominal ledger
* Identifying and coding the recruitment recharges
* Coding the training recharges
* Assist with the administrative processing on the housing management rent database, including correction of user errors and checking Housing Benefit overpayment requests, write off and write backs
* Prepare the rent breakdown for any new sublets, using the template set at the start of each financial year, ensure any new properties are set up in all appropriate databases
* Check bank statements daily and record any payments received from clients in the relevant control accounts and on the housing management software.
* Reconcile the monthly control accounts between the housing management software and nominal ledger
* Liaise with external agencies on behalf of staff and clients as directed by the Payroll and finance administrator
* Maintain finance records, as required and ensure all manual, computerised records and information are stored, as appropriate
* Cover for other finance assistant positions if required
* Attend staff meetings and support and appraisal sessions as required
* Attend appropriate training to meet needs identified by line manager
* Carry out any other reasonable duties, as requested by a senior manager

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
* Educated to ‘GCSE’ level or equivalent, to include maths and English
* Recent experience of using a modular finance computer system
