Who we support
We work with young people aged 16-25 facing a range of challenges such as:
* Mental health issues
* Substance misuse
* Relationship breakdowns
* Gang involvement
* Isolation and homelessness
Your role will be to offer guidance, build trust, and create a safe environment as they work toward stability and independence.
What you’ll do
As a Youth Support Worker, you’ll provide essential support to young people living in temporary housing. You will:
* Support young people in developing life skills and preparing for independent living.
* Help them access education, employment, or training opportunities.
* Assist with finding and securing long-term housing.
* Provide emotional support and manage challenging behaviour.
* Work flexible shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins.
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking compassionate individuals who can build strong, supportive relationships with young people.
* Experience: Working with young people aged 16-25 or personal insight into their challenges.
* Skills: Ability to stay calm under pressure, de-escalate conflicts, and manage challenging behaviour.
* Knowledge: Awareness of safeguarding practices and trauma-informed care is desirable.

We have opportunities available across multiple Hertfordshire locations, including: EN8, HP4, SG13, WD6, SG5, SG7, AL3, SG1, SG2, and WD19.

* Zero-hours contract offering flexibility to fit your schedule.
* Potential for shifts to include occasional sleep-ins.
