Director of Finance (Deputy S151)
My client is a Local Authority in Central London looking to appoint an Interim Director of Finance and is working with Spencer Clarke Group to find the successful candidate.
About the role:
Based in London (Hybrid):
Provide strategic leadership of the Finance function and act as the lead officer providing strategic policy direction, leadership, operational management, and financial control for the Finance function.
What's on offer:
* Salary: £800 - £1000 per day, inside IR35.

* Hours: 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
* Lead the promotion and delivery of good financial management across the council, ensuring public money is safeguarded and used appropriately, economically, efficiently, and effectively.
* Act as the Council's deputy S151 officer and ensure that the Finance function operates effectively and to the highest professional standards.
* Responsible for the strategic and general management of the Finance function in line with priorities laid out in the Medium-Term Financial Strategy, Borough Plan, and departmental service plans.
About you:
You will have the following experiences:
* Excellent understanding of the overall context in which local authorities operate, including the challenges and opportunities.
* In-depth, relevant financial management knowledge applied in a local authority context.
* Substantial experience of leading local authority Finance teams.
