Electrical Project Engineer - Water Industry

💰 Rate: Up to £375 per day (Outside IR35)
🚗 Mileage: Paid after 30 miles
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join the Minor Works Team within the water industry. This is a hands-on role, requiring you to work across North Wales on electrical installations, inspections, and testing of water infrastructure. A key part of the role will involve replacing MCCs (Motor Control Centres) and distribution boards, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Work hands-on within the Minor Works Team, carrying out electrical installation, inspection, and testing.
Conduct inspection & testing in line with City & Guilds 2391 requirements.
Replace MCCs and distribution boards across various water treatment facilities.
Manage electrical projects within the water sector, from design through to commissioning.
Ensure compliance with water industry regulations and health & safety standards.
Collaborate with contractors, site teams, and internal stakeholders to oversee project delivery.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on-site.
Carry out site surveys and assess project requirements.
Requirements:
✅ City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) - Essential
✅ Experience working hands-on in the water industry, particularly on minor works projects
✅ Strong background in electrical installation, maintenance, and commissioning
✅ Proven experience in replacing MCCs and distribution boards
✅ Knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and industry compliance
✅ Ability to work independently and liaise with stakeholders
✅ Full UK driving license - willingness to travel across North Wales
