At Big Ant Recruitmentwe are working with our client, a growing accountancy practice that prides itself on providing a broad range of accounting and business support services, is seeking an experienced VAT & Accounts Assistant with previous practice experience to join their friendly and supportive team. This role is ideal for someone with strong interpersonal skills who thrives in a close-knit, team-oriented environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Management of the bookkeeping list
* Preparation of Ltd company accounts
* Partnership accounts preparation
* Sole trader accounts preparation
* Self-assessment tax return preparation (including duplicate checks)
* VAT return preparation using Xero
* Delivering Xero training to clients
* General administration duties
* Dealing with client queries promptly and professionally
* Working closely with Client Managers to ensure deadlines are met
* Representing and promoting the firm at networking events
Skills and Experience Required:
* Qualifications: AAT Level 3 or equivalent
* Software Skills: Proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks, or Free Agent for VAT return preparation
* Experience: Strong background in bookkeeping and accounts preparation
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a collaborative environment
* Attention to Detail: Key focus on accuracy and thoroughness
