Job Overview
To support the day-to-day delivery of a comprehensive Corporate Assurance function including Business Continuity, Risk Management, Incident Management, and Health and Safety service to the CSU and external client base.
You will be a point of liaison for assisting and supporting on the internal and external assessment activities. Prepare responses, returns, and reports for senior management approval.
Use audit and systematic review as a mechanism to identify improvement opportunities providing tools and input to enable analysis, feed into the planning, improvement, and benefit capture.
In this role, you will be part of a self-motivated team providing a highly responsive service within an environment where teamwork and communication are key to our success.
This role requires extensive travelling across the Arden & GEM CSU footprint; a full driving licence with access to own vehicle is desirable, but alternatives can be considered where they promote the efficiency of the service.
Main Duties of the Job
To support and on occasions lead on the delivery of a range of corporate support and compliance functions for the CSU and its client base ensuring an efficient and customer-focused professional service.
* Provide support for the Governance and Assurance Framework and relevant documentation developing robust processes and expertise, to ensure appropriate corporate and research governance.
* To help ensure that appropriate corporate governance policies and arrangements (e.g. Health & Safety, Business Continuity, EPRR).
* To assist with the administration for business continuity, EPRR, health and safety, risk management, incident management, records management, ISO accreditations and other assurance activities.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
To support the development and delivery of the Business Continuity and EPRR policies and services for the CSU, Integrated Governance Service and where required client organisations including:
* Organising appropriate support, training, and testing/desk top testing.
* Maintaining business continuity plans including oversight of plans within teams.
* Support the refresh of Business Impact Assessments, Business Continuity and EPRR plans.
* Attending and supporting meetings and workshops.
* Provision of Business Continuity and EPRR support to clients in line with agreed service specifications.
Provide specialist advice on risk management, incident and serious incident reporting and recording including ensuring the maintenance of risk registers and reporting systems, (subject matter expert) and that lessons learnt are shared and acted upon.
To support the implementation of the CSU's health and safety policy and associated arrangements including the HSMS across the CSU, within the Integrated Governance Service and where necessary with clients. This will involve amongst other matters:
* Organising and assisting in the provision of training on health and safety requirements.
* Undertaking risk assessments. DSEs and the development of PEEPs.
* Monitoring and reporting on the delivery of health and safety action plans and remedial works.
* Supporting Building Audits and Fire Risk assessments.
* Liaison and co-ordination of work with the Estates and Facilities Management Team, HSE, NHSPS and landlords as required.
* Develop and co-ordinate a work programme for H&S, providing reports, recommendations, decisions and updates to the Senior Team/Committees.
* Provision of advice on H&S legislation and regulations.

Education/Training/Qualifications
Essential criteria:
* Education to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
* PC literate including MS Office.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable criteria:
* Qualifications: IOSH, NEBOSH, CBCI, MBCI.
Experience
Essential criteria:
* Experienced in Business Continuity.
Desirable criteria:
* Previously worked in a similar position within the public sector.
* Experience of EPRR; H&S; Operational Management; Risk Management; Management information and reporting; Corporate Governance; Business Planning; NHS Incident Management; Experience of working in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
