About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a well-regarded mainstream primary school in Cambridge. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children in a classroom setting, a passion for education, and a commitment to helping every child reach their full potential.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support to children, assist with classroom management, and help deliver engaging lessons. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive learning environment, supporting individual learning needs, and ensuring every child feels included and supported in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the teacher in delivering lessons and classroom activities
Work with small groups of children or on a one-to-one basis to support their learning
Help with the preparation of learning materials and resources
Provide pastoral care and support to children
Assist with the management of classroom behaviour
Support children with additional learning needs, as directed by the teacher
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback when necessary
Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environmentAbout You:
Previous experience working in a primary school setting is essential
A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and classroom dynamics
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable
A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirableWhy Join Us?
