Are you a Distribution/Transport Planner currently working in the fast-paced world of FMCG logistics, and looking for your next challenge? We have an opportunity that will enable you to use and develop your route planning skills to optimise and improve our delivery schedules, balancing high levels of efficiency and productivity with industry leading levels of customer service. Working alongside our National Distribution Planning Manager, you will drive efficiencies, process improvements and adopt best practice in route optimisation, across our UK wide depot and distribution network. With a fleet of over 900 vehicles, we are one of the biggest independent distribution networks in the UK and are proud to be delivering our freshly baked products daily to around 18,000 customer stores across the UK each day, seven days a week, 362 days a year. Key Accountabilities and Measures As an experienced Distribution/Transport Planner, this is an incredible opportunity for you to make an impact and deliver tangible benefits through the use of your skills and experience. You will be able to identify key areas for improvement within the planning of direct-to-store retail customer deliveries, using data, trends, and key performance indicators to drive efficiencies and customer service improvements. Proficient in the use of route optimisation software within a multi-drop delivery operation, you will deliver enhancements to current routing processes, both centrally, and across our depots. And, using analytics and data trends, you will provide critical insights for operational optimisation. You will consider the longer-term outlook, evaluating new business opportunities and supporting the development of our distribution network in line with business strategy, whilst at the same time considering the sustainability impact that our distribution activities have. Passionate about driving continuous improvement, you will embrace the many exciting plans we have in the pipeline, working cross functionally to identify solutions that drive tangible business benefits. As a team, it is essential we continue to evolve and adapt to our customers needs, remaining flexible in our approach - this role is key to ensuring the ongoing viability of the distribution planning and operational route management processes and systems.
