Children's Social Worker

About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Children's Social Workers to join our dedicated team in Plymouth City Council. You will be working with families facing complex challenges, including child protection, care proceedings, and child in need cases. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify their needs and risks
* Develop and implement tailored support plans to address identified needs
* Work collaboratively with other professionals, including health, education, and police, to ensure a coordinated approach to casework
* Represent the child's best interests in court proceedings
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
* Provide regular supervision and support to junior staff members
Essential Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker with a relevant degree and registration with Social Work England
* Significant experience working with children and families in a statutory child protection setting
* Strong assessment, analysis, and decision-making skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work under pressure and manage complex caseloads
* Commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare
Desirable Requirements:
* Experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds
* Knowledge of local authority procedures and legislation
* Experience in court work
