April Court is a 17-bedroom residential home providing care and support for adults with learning disabilities. We're looking for a dedicatedPart-Time Cookto help make a real difference in our residents daily lives.
We canbe flexible whether you prefer to work during the morning or the afternoon, we can accommodate what suits you best in line with the needs of the home.
We do require one main cooked meal to be prepared each day from Sunday to Thursday. Meals will be prepared for either a 12:30pm or 5pm service depending on your chosen rota pattern.

About the Role:
Youll work in a well-used kitchen; this is a lone working position. You will ensure that you work with a person-centred approach, ensuring that the independence, rights and choices of our residents are promoted. You will be preparing fresh, home-cooked meals each day. We pride ourselves on offering healthy, tasty food made from scratch.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook meals using fresh ingredients in line with several specifically assessed dietary needs.
* Manage kitchen stocks effectively and maintain proper stock control systems and remain within set budgets.
* Maintain accurate kitchen records in line with Environmental Health requirements.
* Keep the kitchen clean, hygienic, and safe at all times.
* Menu planning and allergen advice is completed.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and in a safe working order.
* Follow all relevant food safety and health & safety regulations.
* Comply with the Catering Manual and other internal policies.
* Comply with all infection control measures and ensure the kitchen remain clean and hygienic throughout service.
What Were Looking For:
* Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Have a working knowledge of (HACCP) Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points, Health and Safety including (COSHH) Control of Substances Hazardous to Heath & basic food hygiene certificate.
* A relevant catering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
* Thorough working knowledge of kitchen management, ordering, stock control, health and safety and infection control policies and procedures.
* Good communication skills and a team player attitude.
Part-time 28 hours per week(Sunday to Thursday)
