Job Title: Clothing Machine Operator
Reports to: Production Manager
Hours of work: 8:30am to 5:30pm
Overall objective:
Our company is growing rapidly in our production department and therefore we are seeking an Heat press Machine Operator. The overall role will require the Clothing Machine Operator to print garments as and when the production order gets created to allow the customer to receive the finished product within a 1-to-2-day lead time.
Main responsibilities:
- Efficient and safe operation of multi-head heat press machine
- Handles the proper placement of design.
- Retrieve designs from our database and produce printed garments
- Maintains understanding of the operating procedure in the department
- Performs quality production at reasonable speeds, taking full advantage of the equipment available
- Ensure that targets are met for quality, productivity, and lead time with minimal misprints
- Responsible for communicating any issues regarding individual heat press machine heads and logo placement on garments
- Responsible for exceptional cleanliness of clothing machine production area
- Responsible for maintaining the highest quality on all items
- Inspect product visually for defects prior to production
- Communicate with Production Manager to reorder materials and supplies
- Assist with facility cleaning
- Participate in and contribute to group projects
- Cooperate and share information with team members
- Promote a safe and clean work environment
- Learning all aspects of Embroidery
Key skills and attributes:
- Basic language and communication skills in speaking and understanding English
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision and constant direction
- Able to apply common sense and strategic thinking in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand for an extended period while using hands and arms
- Candidates are required to see and differentiate colours for accuracy in inspecting the product during and after being processed
- Proactive can-do attitude
- Must be comfortable working with computers
- Keen eye for detail
