Managing Director / Owner at Gael Energy Ltd
We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and self-motivated individual to our rapidly evolving team. Gael Energy provides wind turbine operations & maintenance and engineering services throughout the UK and is on a rapid growth trajectory within the renewables industry — financial discipline and reporting is a cornerstone to achieving our desired growth. An opportunity has arisen to play a leading role within the financial/commercial team of the business from April 2025. Over time, the role is likely to evolve into recruiting and managing additional staff members as the business develops.
You would be relied on as a key member of the management team, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The renewables industry is growing apace, with the Highland region being well positioned to be at the forefront of the green revolution. Gael Energy is a rapidly developing, Highland headquartered, disruptor of the renewables industry. Our primary focus is providing wind turbine maintenance and engineering solutions, and we now serve renowned clients including major renewables developers and utilities.
Qualities and Qualifications
1. Must have a ‘can do’, self motivated and ambitious attitude, and an ability to problem solve
2. Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to take ownership and responsibility of financial & commercial work streams
3. Practical knowledge and past experience of operating and implementing financial and accountancy systems in delivering accurate monthly reporting, financial analysis and forecasting
4. Qualifications in finance/accountancy will be looked at favorably but are not essential.
5. Confidence and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
1. Completing month end reporting and WIP adjustments
2. Completing accurate budgets and forecasting
3. Managing accurate project cost control and reporting
4. Coordinating and completing invoicing
5. Liaising with clients on all matters cost related
6. Liaising with accountants
7. Coordinating fortnightly payment runs
8. Support the preparation of quotations for customers
9. Coordinating time keeping
10. Raising purchase orders and managing open PO liability across all projects
11. Liaising with colleagues in the event of any query relating to a job
12. Dealing with supplier enquiries
13. Understanding and communicating job performance to key stakeholders
14. Assisting storeman with ensuring stock book value is true and correct on a regular basis
Role Development
For the right candidate, the position would develop into a managerial role with responsibilities including oversight of back-office activities and ultimately recruiting and managing a team to work under them. Additional managerial responsibilities may include all activities from marketing through to project KPI reporting.
