Senior Physiotherapist (Domiciliary Team)

We are seeking an innovative and committed clinician to join this well-established domiciliary physiotherapy team. We are a city-wide physiotherapy service with a central base at the Kenton Centre. Our team consists of physiotherapists, Associate Practitioners, Technical Instructors, and administration staff, providing physiotherapy assessment and input into patients' own homes.
The successful applicant will have a broad clinical background post-registration, including musculoskeletal, elderly care, neurology, and respiratory care where possible. Good communication skills and a commitment to multi-disciplinary networking are essential, as the role requires independent responsibility for home-based assessment, planning, development, and therapeutic intervention, ensuring an integrated and holistic approach alongside other professionals within primary, secondary, and social care services.

Main Duties of the Job
1. To provide a high standard of physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and advice to a complex patient group in the community setting.
2. Independently manage a caseload of patients and liaise with family and health and social care professionals as required.
3. Attend and actively participate in team in-service training.
4. Take responsibility for own CPD.
5. Supervise other team members as delegated by the team lead.
6. Participate in Service Development.
Job Responsibilities
1. To work as part of the physiotherapy team within Domiciliary Physiotherapy delivering high standards of physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and advice to patients.
2. To be responsible for a caseload of complex patients within the designated work area working without direct supervision.
3. To plan, organise, and deliver physiotherapy care to these patients.
4. To prioritise own clinical caseload, organising care effectively with regard to clinical priorities.
5. To undertake comprehensive specialist assessment of physiotherapy needs of patients.
6. To evaluate and monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment programmes accordingly.
7. To motivate and encourage patients' active participation in all aspects of their physiotherapy care.
8. To carry out all duties in accordance with the requirements of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and trust policies.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Sound knowledge of physiotherapy processes.
* Advanced knowledge of medical conditions and their impact on patient functional abilities.
* Knowledge of undertaking research and audit projects.
* Knowledge of current NHS issues.
Skills
* Organisation and time management skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Commitment to personal and service development.
* Current valid driving license for the UK and access to a car for work purposes.
* Ability to present information clearly in both written and oral formats.
* Specialist treatment skills, e.g., manual therapy.
Experience
* Experience as a physiotherapist in a rotational post providing a broad range of NHS experience.
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Previous experience in a senior post.
* Experience of working with patients with physical health problems.
* Experience of community working.
Qualifications
* Degree or Equivalent Diploma in Physiotherapy.
* State Registered with Health and Care Professions Council.
* Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.
* Involvement in relevant CSP Clinical Special Interest groups.
