We are seeking a Finance Administrator to join our team, supporting the Systems Accountant in delivering an effective and efficient service. This role is crucial in maintaining finance system administrations and handling general queries. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across the Finance department to find solutions to challenges and ensure smooth financial operations.
Job description
As a Finance Administrator you will be responsible for the following;
1. Administer finance systems, including setting up new users, updating leavers, and modifying approval routes.
2. Set up new nominal codes and mark unused nominals to inactive after obtaining full approval.
3. Close old purchase orders and update directorates and departments within the systems.
4. Address errors/issues within the finance systems and handle employee expense queries.
5. Analyse expense reports and extract reports from various systems, ensuring data accuracy and addressing discrepancies.
6. Perform reconciliations between finance and non-finance systems where interfaces are not established.
7. Provide training support to finance and non-finance staff to effectively utilise finance systems and other technology tools.
8. Undertake additional tasks as required within the Finance Department.
Person specification
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
9. Understanding of handling employee expenses and financial management and accounting principles.
10. IT literate with experience and knowledge of finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
11. Ability to work to tight deadlines with great attention to detail.
12. Good verbal and written communication skills.
13. Intermediate level Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS functions.
14. Experience using different financial and payroll systems.
15. Experience working in a Finance or Systems Administration role.
