Caritas Futures is supporting a well-known charity focused on Domestic Violence with an experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) role.
As an IDVA, you will provide a high-quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence and abuse through ongoing risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional, and practical support.
Duties:
1. Working closely with high-risk victims of domestic violence to provide a high-quality independent advocacy and support service.
2. Managing caseloads, assessing referrals, signposting to additional services, and supporting clients.
3. Understanding the legal framework relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
4. Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support, and information to victims, which includes legal and civil options, housing, health, and finance.
Essential Requirements:
1. Extensive experience of supporting and advocating on behalf of Domestic Violence victims.
2. Ability to crisis manage and work well under pressure.
3. Strong organization and diary management skills.
4. Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months.
