Shift Pattern: Days/Nights rotation (4 on 4 off shift pattern)
The Role:
As the Engineering Shift Manager, you'll work closely with the Maintenance Manager to oversee daily operations, managing a team of engineers and ensuring that machinery and equipment are kept in optimal working condition. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of production through effective breakdown response, maintenance scheduling, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of maintenance engineers, fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
2. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
3. Manage day-to-day maintenance activities, including the prioritisation of resources in a fast-paced production environment.
4. Respond quickly and efficiently to machinery breakdowns, minimising downtime.
5. Conduct preventative maintenance and factory start-up testing.
6. Manage external contractors and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Extensive hands-on technical experience, ideally within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.
2. A recognised time-served apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in either mechanical or electrical engineering (minimum NVQ Level 3).
3. Knowledge of planned maintenance systems and PPM.
4. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electrical, and inverter/PC systems.
5. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise resources effectively.
